Ridvan Yilmaz 'snubs' Rangers transfer exit as lesser seen star leaves Turkish suitors wanting

Ridvan Yilmaz is not interested in leaving Rangers on-loan, according to a report.

The lesser-seen left-back has been linked with a return to Turkey as both Galatasaray and Trabzonspor were credited with an interest. Rangers signed Yilmaz for £5million from Besiktas during the summer transfer window but he's been a largely peripheral figure in the opening months of the season.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst has appeared in only two of 10 Premiership matches, starting one and making a 12-minute cameo in the other with Borna Barisic still preferred on the left-hand side of Rangers' defence. That lack of game-time sparked rumours of a quickfire return to his homeland as Turkish media talked up the SuperLig duo as serious options for a loan move in January. But now aspor.com report Yilmaz has no desire to leave Scotland at this stage.

Rangers tied the defender down on a five-year deal back in July and have emphasised the long-term nature of the deal in response to scrutiny surrounding his lack of involvement and criticism aimed at Barisic's form. And it appears Yilmaz himself is in no mood to give up on his Ibrox career so soon.
