Ridvan Yilmaz Rangers transfer fee revealed as Besiktas announce sell on clause in detailed breakdown

Besiktas have revealed the key numbers behind Ridvan Yilmaz 's transfer to Rangers. The 21-year-old Turkey international has signed a five-year deal with Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side, becoming the manager's seventh signing of a busy summer.

Rangers have quickly reinvested the club record fee they negotiated with Ajax for Calvin Bassey as Yilmaz joins Ben Davies as the second of two left-side defensive additions. Rangers will pay a guaranteed €4million (£3.39m) plus €2.25m (£1.9m) in potential add-ons, with a 20 per cent sell-on clause written into Yilmaz's contract.

The Besiktas statement said: "On the final transfer of our professional football player Ridvan Yilmaz to Rangers FC; It has been agreed that a guarantee fee of 4,000,000 Euros, a contingent fee of 2,250,00 Euros and 20 per cent of the net transfer income in the event that the player is leased to another club while his contract with Rangers FC is still in effect."

Yilmaz himself, meanwhile, has admitted he's thrilled to be heading for Glasgow. He's cited Rangers' continental pedigree as a factor in joining after the club's run to last season's Europa League final.

The defender told the Rangers website: “I am delighted to be joining a club the size of Rangers and am really looking forward to meeting my new teammates. This is a club who have shown they can
