Richarlison set to rub salt in Arsenal wounds with Everton star locked in transfer talks

Everton talisman Richarlison is in 'advanced talks' to join Tottenham and snub a move to bitter rivals Arsenal, according to reports.

The Brazil international, 25, is believed to be a transfer target for the Gunners. Richarlison is viewed as one of the Premier League's finest players not representing one of the so-called "Big Six" clubs - scoring 53 goals in four seasons at Goodison Park.

The former Watford star is yet to win silverware at club level but has excelled for Brazil, helping them win the Copa America in 2019 and gold at the Olympics in Tokyo last summer. He's scored 14 goals in 36 senior caps and is expected to play at this year's World Cup.

Arsenal would've been hopeful of signing Richarlison thanks to their Brazilian links. Technical director Edu has brought a number of Brazil internationals to the Emirates since his appointment in July 2019 - including Gabriel Magalhaes and Gabriel Martinelli.

Yet it appears Tottenham are leading the race for the forward's signature. According to journalist Bruno Andrade, Spurs are in advanced talks to sign Richarlison for €60million - around £51m. It's thought personal terms are currently being discussed.

Richarlison reportedly wants to leave Everton after Frank Lampard's side narrowly avoided relegation last season. Reports claim Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are other possible transfer destinations for the talented Brazilian.

Tottenham can offer potential signings Champions League football after pipping Arsenal to fourth last season. The Gunners were four points clear of Spurs with three games to go but defeats to Newcastle and Antonio Conte's side ruined their hopes.

Tottenham have already signed two players after qualifying for the Champions
