Rice names ‘amazing’ Chelsea legend as his childhood ‘idol’
West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice has revealed that Chelsea legend John Terry was his “idol” growing up.
Rice was with Chelsea as an academy player and he supported the Blues when he was a kid.
The midfielder was let go by Chelsea in 2014 and later that year he signed for West Ham. He made his senior debut for the Hammers in 2017 and he has not looked back since.

Over the past couple of years, Rice has established himself as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League. He has also been a key player for England as he has been capped 27 times since 2019.

Rice is reportedly rated at around £100m and he is being targeted by Chelsea and Man Utd.
The 23-year-old made an appearance on Gary Neville’s ‘The Overlap‘ YouTube channel on Thursday. The Man Utd legend asked Rice who his footballing hero was growing up and the West Ham man answered:
