Ribeiro tops PSL charts in Sundowns' victory, Dzvukamanja's 68-second stunner floors Chiefs
Mamelodi Sundowns have continued their flawless record in the 2023/24 DStv Premiership season, securing a narrow and hard-fought 1-0 victory over fellow title contenders Orlando Pirates.
As early as the ninth minute, the skilful Brazilian attacking midfielder Lucas Ribeiro found the back of the net, notching his fifth goal of the season from the penalty spot. This achievement propelled him to the position of top scorer in the league.

Masandawana moved to 21 points, creating a seven-point gap over second-place Golden Arrows (14 points). At the same time, the Buccaneers (seven points) dropped down to eleventh position, tasting defeat only for the second time this season in the league after just five outings.
Over at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, Gavin Hunt faced his former team, Kaizer Chiefs. Itumeleng Khune made his season debut as the goalkeeper, marking a significant milestone. He became the first Amakhosi player to represent the club in 17 consecutive seasons.
Yet, that accomplishment was quickly overshadowed just 68 seconds later when Terrence Dzvukamanja's half-volley ensured that Amakhosi left Polokwane without any points. Meanwhile, SuperSport climbed to third place in the standings.
