Rhasidat Adeleke and Roisin Flanagan record Irish records in New York
Rhasidat Adeleke and Roisin Flanagan were in record-breaking form this evening at the prestigious Millrose Games in New York.
Tallaght AC's Adeleke set a new Irish 300m record with a second-placed finish in 36.42 seconds to better her own record of 36.87 which she had set two years ago.
Adeleke has already broken Irish indoor records at 60m and 200m this indoor season.
Finn Valley’s Roisin Flanagan clocked a 9:36.70 in the two-mile race. Flanagan finished 11th in a blisteringly fast contest which went the way of Scotland’s Laura Muir in 9:04.84 after initial race winner Medina Eisa of Ethiopia was disqualified.
Mark English also enjoyed an excellent outing in New York, clocking 1:46:61 as he finished third in the 800m, marginally outside his own indoor record of 1:46.10.
Andrew Coscoran finished 12th in the Wanamaker Mile race in 4:01.69.
