'Revenge' - Luis Suarez transfer claims emerge amid Aston Villa links
Luis Suarez is reportedly eyeing 'revenge' when he leaves Atletico Madrid at the end of the season.
Suarez will see his current contract with Diego Simeone's men expire come the summer.
Former Liverpool striker Suarez, an old team-mate of Aston Villa boss Steven Gerrard at Anfield, was linked with a move to Villa Park in January.
Gerrard already has one former Red in Philippe Coutinho firing on all cylinders and Suarez could be convinced to make a return to the Premier League by joining up with Gerrard.
Suarez fired Atletico to the La Liga title last season with 21 goals but has only managed 11 strikes in 34 games this campaign.
He is not guaranteed to start games either and was on the substitute's bench for the 1-1 draw with Manchester United in the Champions League last month.
Madrid-based media outlet Marca reports that Suarez wants to prove Simeone wrong with Atleti said to have not been in touch with the player about a new contract.
Suarez, 35, is reportedly keen to remain in Spanish football despite claims that he wants to return to England for one last crack at the Premier League.
Atleti's Spanish rivals Sevilla have been mentioned as a potential option for Suarez while Major League Soccer teams and Serie A champions Inter Milan are also credited with an interest.
Villa were tipped to make a move back in January but Gerrard dismissed talk that his side were looking for a striker.
"We're not after a centre forward in this window, that's as clear as I can be," Gerrard said.
"I know Luis extremely well. He's a world-class footballer, but we're not after adding a centre forward, whether it be Luis or anyone else."
Recent reports have claimed that Suarez is still an option for Villa but it is unlikely Villa
