'Reunited' - Manchester United fans sent wild by Casemiro transfer agreement

Supporters are excited to see Casemiro reunited with his ex-Real Madrid teammates Raphael Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo after Manchester United agreed to sign the Brazil international. Casemiro, 30, is the fourth signing made by Erik ten Hag during his much-needed rebuild.

After the Dutchman was sworn in from Ajax this summer, United struck up deals for Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez with other targets still on the radar. However, while the Old Trafford outfit did want to recruit in other areas, their priority was always central midfield and they appear to have got their man.

United initially wanted Declan Rice and subsequently turned their attention to Frenkie de Jong when Ten Hag was appointed as manager. However, there have been some well-documented stumbling blocks when it comes to that would-be pursuit and Casemiro has, ultimately, since taken centre stage.

Discussions over a transfer have progressed quickly over the last few days and on Friday it was announced United had come to an agreement with the Spanish giants. Casemiro is set to sign for an initial £60million while the outlay could eventually rise to £70million depending on performance-related add-ons.

Casemiro arrives at Old Trafford as one of the most accomplished holding midfielders in the sport and as a proven winner with three La Liga titles, and five Champions League medals, heading up his individual collection. Of course, he picked up most of them in tandem with soon-to-be United colleagues Varane and Ronaldo.
