Resident Evil 3 Mod Swaps Out Carlos for Chris Redfield
Resident Evil 3’s remake may have been a let-down, but it’s still a solid game in the franchise, even if it felt like something was missing.
The Resident Evil series has experienced some success since its revival in 2017 and the recent remakes of some of its classic titles. Even the Resident Evil 3 remake is decent, but many felt it fell short of the original.
Fans think that despite losing many of the aspects of survival, the game is still a terrific third-person shooter with a passionate following.
There are many memorable characters in the franchise, which contributes to its general popularity. However, occasionally the best ones could be included in the games.
It’s at this point that modder Chiarav1 enters the picture. Chris Redfield has been re-instated in Resident Evil 3, replacing Carlos Oliveira with his character model.
The only apparent difference to the gameplay or narrative appears to be that Chris is now the one assisting Jill. According to the creator’s bio on Nexus Mods, a buddy of theirs gave them the idea. Additionally, it appears to still be a work in progress as there may be some significant errors with the clipping and facial motions. It also states, however, that it is incompatible with the most recent game update.
Chris Redfield, who debuted as one of the playable heroes in the original Resident Evil game back in 1996, is one of the most well-known Resident Evil characters, along with Leon Kennedy. Since then, he has appeared in several episodes, from Code Veronica to Village, the mediocre fifth and sixth sequels. It may not make logical sense for him to appear in Resident Evil 3 Remake, but it’s a lovely gesture for fans who simply can’t get enough of the S.T.A.R.S. member.
