Republic of Ireland continue to drop down FIFA world rankings

The Republic of Ireland have continued to slip down the FIFA rankings, dropping down to 58th place in today's latest standings.

Stephen Kenny's side drop three places from 55th last month as a Euro 2024 qualifying defeat to Greece and a 4-0 victory over Gibraltar saw them continue continue to move further away from the top 50 places.

Kenny's side now sit directly below Burkino Faso (56th) and Saudi Arabia (57th).

The Boys in Green were ranked 34th when Kenny took charge of the national team in April 2020.

Elsewhere, Argentina continue to sit atop the pile in first place with France and Brazil still second and third.

Gareth Southgate's England are fourth while Northern Ireland are down to 75th, having dropped one place.

Scotland sit in 34th place while Wales move into the top 30 as their recent wins over Croatia and Gibraltar see them climb to 28th.
