Report: Club chief now ready to offer £22.5m-rated 'beast' in Tottenham talks with Paratici

According to reports from Italy, an interesting Tottenham Hotspur twist has come to light on transfer chief Fabio Paratici’s hunt for a new central defender.

Spurs head coach Antonio Conte reportedly has his eyes on a major left-footed upgrade for his Premier League back three and there has been no shortage of names linked with a potential move.

A seemingly never-ending list of candidates for the position has included Alessandro Bastoni, Josko Gvardiol, Clement Lenglet and Pau Torres according to Alasdair Gold, with more names appearing on a consistent basis.

As per a new claim from the continent, both Conte and Paratici have their eyes on a new target in Juventus star Merih Demiral, with Old Lady sporting director Federico Cherubini even ready to offer the Turk in a part-exchange.

According to information courtesy of Calciomercato Web, the Italian chief has set his sights on Spurs left-back Sergio Reguilon amid the Lilywhites’ interest in Demiral.

Thus, Cherubini ‘could make an attempt’ to sign the Spaniard by proposing an ‘equal exchange’ in talks with Paratici.

It is claimed that Demiral could be an ‘important trading pawn’ and Tottenham ‘could take advantage’ of the opportunity.

Depending on developments and whether Juve’s club chief does offer out Demiral for Reguilon, we believe this potential deal could solve many issues for Conte.

Signing a new centre-back is allegedly among the Italian’s top summer priorities with the 24-year-old proving a consistent and reliable presence on loan at Atalanta over 2021/2022.

According to WhoScored, he finished the campaign among their top-ten best performers whilst averaging the second-most aerial duels won, clearances made and successful interceptions per 90.
