Report: Bills place star saftey Hyde on IR with neck injury, to miss season

The Buffalo Bills will be without star safety Micah Hyde for the remainder of the 2022 season as they are to place him on IR due to a recent neck injury, Hyde's agent Jack Bechta told ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter.

Bills’ safety Micah Hyde will be put on IR today due to his recent neck injury, as his agent @jackbechta said. “Fortunately, we expect a healthy return for #23 in 2023,” Bechta tweeted.

"Unfortunately (my) client Micah Hyde will be put on IR today due to his recent neck injury. Fortunately, we expect a healthy return for #23 in 2023", Bechta said in a tweet issued moments after the announcement.

The 31-year-old is coming off one of his most impressive seasons with the Bills, tallying five interceptions, 74 tackles and a sack. A former Green Bay Packer (2013-16) and native of Toledo, Ohio, Hyde and his teammate Jordan Poyer have cemented themselves as one of the best safety tandems in the National Football League.

A product of the University of Iowa, Hyde has played in 144 career games and has recorded 590 tackles, 22 interceptions and five sacks.

In 2017, Hyde earned Pro-Bowl and Second-Team All-Pro honours with five interceptions and 82 tackles.
