Reo Hatate strikes as Celtic make light work of Portimonense and rising Ben Summers adds to bubbling hype

Premiership champions Celtic were too much for Portimonese to handle as Brendan Rodgers' side secured a dominant 4-1 win ahead of their trip to Japan.

The Irishman watched on with pride as Reo Hatate netted from the spot before Liel Abada and Ben Summers netted either side of a strike from the hosts. He could be quickly followed by Kwon Hyeok-kyu with a deal close for the Busan holding midfielder.

Rodgers and his team will now turn their attentions to Japan with a pair of friendlies lined up as Kyogo, Hatae and Daizen Maeda are set for starring roles in their homeland. And then the focus shifts back to Europe with a rearranged fixture with Wolves taking place in Dublin before a showdown with Bilbao in James Forrest's testimonial. The emergence of Summers is good new for the champions after his eye-catching displays at academy level earned him a senior debut under Ange Postecoglou.
