Reliable reporter: Jurgen Klopp isn't the only one now extending his Liverpool contract

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has signed a contract extension at Anfield, but he’s not the only one, as first reported by David Ornstein.

Appointed on Merseyside in October 2015, the charismatic 54-year-old instantly endeared himself to the Reds’ faithful despite an early tendency to fall short in the pursuit of major honours.

Since then the German has delivered a Premier League title, UEFA Champions League crown, FIFA Cup World Cup success and more recently a Carabao Cup win.

Now as Liverpool stand on the verge of a never before seen quadruple, not only Klopp but also his coaching staff have committed themselves to the club beyond an initial 2024 expected departure.

Taking to Twitter to cite an in-depth report for The Athletic, David Ornstein claimed that Klopp and his ‘closest staff‘ would pen new terms to reach 2026.

The club have since confirmed the news on the manager before adding more details on the futures of his confidantes, revealing Pepijn Lijnders and Peter Krawietz will both stay for the next four years too.

The manager said the signatures of his two assistants were ‘incredibly important‘ and a ‘massive‘ part of his decision to stay.

If the pursuit of four major trophies wasn’t tantalising enough from a Liverpool perspective, now the masterminds behind it all will stick around and try it all again four more times.

Those ‘closest staff’ mentioned by Ornstein could also include the likes of goalkeeping coach John Achterberg, fitness coach Andreas Kornmayer and assistant Vitor Matos, who was pictured in the promotion material shared by the club on Thursday.
