Reda Khadra transfer latest after Sheffield United approach for Brighton midfielder

Sheffield United have not given up their hopes of signing Brighton & Hove midfielder Reda Khadra.

Khadra spent last season on loan with Championship club Blackburn Rovers, where he made 28 appearances in all competitions and scored five goals, with Rovers narrowly missing out on a play-off spot after spending a large part of last season in the top six. Having impressed at that level, the Blades are now keen to add the 21-year-old to their ranks.

With only one appearance for Albion to date, Sheffield United are hoping to tempt Graham Potter's side to allowing the midfielder to leave on loan again, though reports do suggest that the Championship club are seeking an option in the deal to make the move permanent.

The Blades are not alone in their interest though, with Khadra attracting a lot of interest from clubs in England's second-tier. Blackburn are also understood to want to bring him back to Ewood Park after a successful 2021/22 campaign, while newly promoted Sunderland are said to be eager to add the German midfielder to their ranks ahead of their return to the Championship.

Blackburn have also been linked with another Brighton midfielder in Taylor Richards, who is also understood to be on the radar of fellow Championship side Queens Park Rangers.

Reports suggest that Sheffield United have made an offer to the Brighton midfielder's camp and are awaiting a response from the club, who have already allowed Aaron Connolly to leave on loan to Serie B side Venezia, while Haydon Roberts and Abdallah Sima will also spend the season away from the Amex Stadium after joining Derby County and Angers respectively.
