Red Bull had ‘wobbles’, but they’re there when it counts

Mark Webber said Red Bull have been “delivering” this season, despite having a couple of “wobbles” along the way so far.

Webber, nine times a race winner with Red Bull himself, said there had been a hint of frustration coming through at different times when things haven’t gone their way this year.

Max Verstappen has managed to reel in a 46-point deficit to Charles Leclerc at the top of the World Championship, now leading the standings himself after taking three race victories in a row, alongside another podium last time out in Monaco.

But that gap to Leclerc only came as a result of two retirements in the first three races of the season, with both Verstappen and Sergio Perez having to retire at the season opener in Bahrain through a fuel pressure fault in the car.

This was followed by a fuel leak for Verstappen in Australia too, but he showed the pace has always been within him and the RB18 – winning every race he had finished prior to Monaco, with Perez taking the win himself in the Principality last weekend – with Webber believing they’ve performed when it has been smooth sailing for them.
