Real Madrid's Rodrygo Goes saves CL tie vs Man City with quickfire brace
There were absolute scenes at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday evening.
Manchester City appeared to be strolling towards another Champions League final after a brilliant second half goal from Riyad Mahrez put them 5-3 ahead in their semi-final tie.
But Real Madrid, as they always seem to do, defied all the odds in Europe’s top-tier competition to level things on aggregate in the dying embers of the game.
A dramatic stoppage-time brace from substitute Rodrygo Goes saved Los Blancos’ skins and sent the match to extra-time.
Amazingly, they were Real Madrid’s first two shots on target and according to Opta, it’s the first time a player has scored twice in the 90th minute of a Champions League knockout match.
Check out the Rodrygo’s second goal, which was a brilliant header, here…
OH WOW, OH WOW, OH WOW, OH WOW!!!!!Rodrygo bags his second goal in a matter of minutes! How has this happened!?
