Real Madrid: Gareth Bale sends teammates message after missing La Liga title celebrations
Real Madrid secured their 35th La Liga title this weekend, but Gareth Bale was not there to join in with the celebrations.
It has been yet another difficult season for Bale in Madrid.
The Welshman has been plagued by injuries and come under heavy fire from the Spanish press for his lack of contribution to the team.
As a consequence, he has started just four La Liga matches throughout the entire season and has been limited to two substitute appearances in the Champions League.
Which, in all honesty, is an absolute travesty given Bale’s incredible footballing ability.
He’s been on the periphery of the squad for a good few years now, and it would be understandable if he wasn’t quite feeling part of the team and simply wanted to bury his head in the sand until he leaves the club this summer.
That must have been what the Madridstas believed was happening anyway, as an absent Bale missed their La Liga title celebrations.
However, the star actually missed the party because of a series of back spasms he had been suffering with in the build-up and instead took to Twitter to pay homage to his teammates.
