Real Madrid 1-0 Liverpool: Andy Robertson blasts organisation of Champions League final
There was chaos before the Champions League final between Real Madrid and Liverpool on Saturday evening.
Fans found it incredibly difficult to get into the Stade de France to view the final.
The game was pushed back 36 minutes as supporters struggled to get into the stadium and take their seats.
Footage emerged of tear gas and pepper spray being used on Liverpool fans outside the ground.
UEFA blamed the delay on thousands of Liverpool supporters trying to gain access with fake tickets.
Their statement read, per the Liverpool Echo: “In the lead-up to the game, the turnstiles at the Liverpool end became blocked by thousands of fans who had purchased fake tickets which did not work in the turnstiles. This created a build-up of fans trying to get in.
“As a result, the kick off was delayed by 35 minutes to allow as many fans as possible with genuine tickets to gain access.
“As numbers outside the stadium continued to build up after kick off, the police dispersed them with tear gas and forced them away from the stadium.”
Andy Robertson was furious after the game as he revealed one of his friends, who had a genuine ticket, was not allowed into the ground.
