Now, she's heading up a thriller on Channel 5 - Too Good to Be True which follows a single mum with financial woes as she is offered a dream job, no strings attached. Or are there?

The plot follows single mum Rachel who is on the poverty line, leaving her working all hours of the day as a cleaner to provide for her son. Out of the blue, she is approached by a wealthy businessman offering her a new job with better pay and shorter hours. However, after accepting she gets drawn further into his life and begins to question his motives.

How did Kara Tointon get into acting?

Born in Basildon in Essex, Kara's first paid acting role was as a dancer, aged 11 for Snow White in pantomime. As mentioned, her first role on TV was in EastEnders, playing a schoolfriend of Sonia Fowler.

She appeared as a school student once more in Channel 4's Teachers in 2001. But her big break was back on Albert Square once more.

What was Kara's role in EastEnders?
