Reaction to Portugal's 2-1 win over Czech Republic at Euro 2024

LEIPZIG, Germany :The following is reaction to Portugal's 2-1 victory over the Czech Republic in Euro 2024 Group F on Tuesday.

Portugal midfielder and man of the match Vitinho: "Fortunately, we equalised and we believed until the end we could turn the match around."

"We need to do better but this was the first game. Everybody was enthusiastic but sometimes we were a bit hasty."

"We were very well organised and kept our game plan."

Czech Republic coach Ivan Hašek: "I have to admit it is a big pity that we did not finish our work; it was close. We made it very difficult for Portugal, one of the best teams in the world."
