RB Leipzig strikers fired Celtic clash warning as Marco Rose puts 'guilty' duo on notice

Marco Rose wants his misfiring Leipzig strikers to start trying their luck in front of goal and bring their barren goalless streak to an end .

The German side have a Champions League double-header with Celtic coming up as they welcome Ange Postecoglou's team to Leipzig on Wednesday before the return at Parkhead next week. They go in on a patchy run, having lost four of their last five games and sit rooted to the bottom of Group F.

Part of the problem for Rose's team is the goals have dried up. Former Chelsea star Timo Werner, who cost £25million to be brought back for a second spell in the summer, has only scored one goal in the Bundesliga so far ahead of Saturday's clash with Bochum. And partner Andre Silva, who was the Bundesliga's top scorer just two years ago and scored 40 goals in just 48 starts for Eintracht Frankfurt, is yet to score at all in the league this season.

Now Rose has demanded they raise their game ahead of the visit from the Scottish champions to the Red Bull Arena. He said: "They both need to reward themselves sometimes and shoot. It is incredibly important for them to score more goals. They have both been guilty of passing to teammates in front of goal, instead of shooting, especially Timo.

"In training, they have been excellent and I want to see this on the pitch in the coming weeks because we have an unbelievable amount of games coming up. For the effort they both out in on the pitch, they absolutely deserve more goals. They are both good at getting themselves into positions to score and they'll start scoring at some point, because they certainly both have the quality. Once they start scoring, they will go on a goalscoring run."
