RB Leipzig manager Marco Rose makes 'quiet' admission about Man City ace Erling Haaland

RB Leipzig manager Marco Rose has insisted the German club will struggle to keep Erling Haaland 'completely quiet' as the two sides prepare to meet for their Champions League last-16 second leg clash.

Pep Guardiola's men took the lead against the Bundesliga outfit in the first leg of the tie last month, with Riyad Mahrez opening the scoring for the away side in the 27th minute. The Blues were comfortable for much of the encounter, but Leipzig levelled proceedings in the second half.

Rose's men made it 1-1 with 20 minutes left of normal time, and they were able to prevent City from taking an advantage back to the Etihad Stadium ahead of the second leg. With the away goals rule no longer in play, the reigning Premier League champions will need to defeat Leipzig on Tuesday night.

Haaland struggled to impact the game when the two sides met at the Red Bull Arena in February, with the Norwegian ace recording just 22 touches and zero shots on target. Despite this, the 22-year-old frontman has still registered 34 goals in 35 matches in all competitions this season - and Rose is well aware of his threat.

"Everyone knows about Haaland's qualities," the Leipzig boss said in his pre-match press conference. "We were able to defend well against him in the first leg, but you'll never be able to keep him completely quiet. They don't just have Erling—there will be many world-class players we'll need to be alert for."
