Rapist from Manchester branded a 'dangerous sexual predator' dies during life sentence at 'Monster Mansion'

A rapist branded a 'dangerous sexual predator' by a judge has died in prison. Robin Crago, from Withington in Manchester, was 49 when he was jailed for life in January, 2006.

Crago, formerly of Mauldeth Road West, pleaded guilty at Manchester Crown Court to the rape of a teenage girl and four other rapes. He was given sentences totalling 22 years for 12 other serious sexual offences.

A published report reveals Crago, who was serving his sentence at Wakefield Prison and was 65, died in hospital whilst in custody on August 24, 2022. The prison is nicknamed 'Monster Mansion' due to the number of high-profile prisoners serving sentences there.
