Raphinha, Jesus, Tielemans: Arsenal's potential squad depth for 2022/23 season

Arsenal mean business this summer.

Having missed out on Champions League football to Tottenham Hotspur when they had it in their grasps, Mikel Arteta is once again loosening his pursestrings to continue the revolution at Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners spent big on the arrivals of Aaron Ramsdale, Ben White, Martin Odegaard, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Nuno Tavares last summer to the tune of almost £150 million.

And now it looks as though it’s full speed ahead for another busy transfer window in north London with Arteta’s men seemingly linked to every available player and their dog at the moment.

However, through the typically saturated mire of transfer rumours, we can clearly identify that Arsenal need to get their hands on a new centre forward, left-back cover and a ball-progressing midfielder.

Or, if we’re going to talk in broader strokes, general boosts to squad depth with Arsenal having emerged from the January window with a damning lack of back-up that ultimately contributed to Spurs usurping them.

And with the likes of Alexandre Lacazette, Mattéo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira either already confirmed to be leaving or expected to depart, the importance of bolstering depth couldn’t be any clearer.

But what a difference a transfer window can make because if Arsenal can wrap up the deals most regularly touted for them then the top four should really be concerned about their resources for 2022/23.
