Rangnick happy to get win vs Brighton despite more United wastefulness

Ralf Rangnick was relieved with Manchester United’s 2-0 win over Brighton despite their wastefulness in front of goal yet again.

The Red Devils have been playing relatively well under the German manager, but have been struggling to convert their chances into goals in recent matches.

Thankfully for Rangnick, his side were able to take two chances against Albion on Tuesday night to pick up a crucial victory.

Maybe this sh*t is all part of a cunning plan for Man Utd?

“In the first 10 minutes of the second half we had more success moments and it raised the crowd, they were not moaning and were getting behind the team,” the former RB Leipzig boss said (quotes via BBC Sport).

Van de Beek praised in much-needed Everton win

“I can understand if it feels to them like Brighton have 60% possession, that is not what they want to see.

“First half was Mr Hyde, second half Dr Jekyll and for a change it (the result) was different. In the end it was important to get the three points against an in-form Brighton team.

“It should have been 3-0, 4-0 after 75 minutes but there is a bit of lack of assuredness in front of goal.”

Class is permanent.

Discussing the tactical tweaks he made at half-time, Rangnick added: “We told our two wingers to attack centre-backs so our full-backs could jump to their full-backs. That paid off with Elanga and the red card.

“We should have killed off the game much earlier. We were not lethal enough.”
