"Rangers would love..": Journo drops big Auchenhowie update that'll leave GVB buzzing - opinion

A key Auchenhowie update has emerged on Rangers and their plans for midfielder Joe Aribo…

Transfer insider Pete O’Rourke has revealed that the club wants to extend his terms, with his current deal due to expire at the end of the 2022/23 campaign. Although, he has also admitted that all of the power is in the ex-Charlton man’s hands at the moment.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “Rangers would love to tie him down to a new contract. But the longer his contract drags on without him signing, it puts the player in pole position.”

Gio van Bronckhorst will surely be buzzing with this news as it shows that the club are not resigned to losing Aribo in the summer or in 2023.

They have not settled for cashing in on him at the end of the current season or allowing him to leave for nothing at the end of his contract, as they are still hoping that he will put pen to paper on a new deal.

Aribo has been in fine form this term and keeping him could be a major boost to the side. In the Premiership this season, he has produced seven goals and four assists for the Gers as he has consistently shown that he can have an impact at the top end of the pitch by scoring
