Rangers 'will start to see' more of £5m star at Ibrox

Rangers defender Ridvan Yilmaz cannot be written off after a difficult start to his career at the club, according to journalist Dean Jones.

The 21-year-old has struggled to make an instant impact following his arrival at Ibrox over the summer, but he is likely to get an opportunity to shine over the coming months due to the congested fixture schedule.

Yilmaz signed a five-year contract with Rangers back in July after completing an initial £3.4 million move that could rise to £5m with add-ons from SuperLiga outfit Besiktas.

Jones believes that it is far too early to pass judgement on Yilmaz’s time at Rangers and that he will be ‘integrated more’ into the first team before now and the start of the Qatar World Cup.

In an interview with GiveMeSport, he said: “You can’t be writing him off after two months when he’s 21; completely new surroundings, different style of football, different culture.

“And I’m sure between now
