LIVE updates as section of A6 London Road closed following serious crash
A stretch of the A6 in Stockport is closed off following a crash this afternoon (October 18).
The crash on the A6 London Road, in Hazel Grove, involved one car, emergency services have confirmed.
A woman was taken to hospital from the scene, though her condition has not yet been confirmed.

Police officers, paramedics and fire crews were called to the scene. The air ambulance was also spotted nearby.
The A6 is cordoned off near to McDonald's and KFC, near the junction with Chester Road.
Members of the public should avoid the area, and motorists are advised to make alternative travel arrangements.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "At around 12pm today, officers responded to reports of a serious collision on London Road, Stockport. Emergency services are in attendance and work is ongoing."
A spokesperson for the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “At around 12.15pm on Saturday 18 October, fire crews were called to reports of a road traffic collision on the A6 in Hazel Grove, Stockport.
“One fire engine from Marple station quickly attended the incident, which involved one car. Firefighters assisted a woman from the vehicle and made the area safe.
"The woman was then taken to hospital by North West Ambulance Service. Fire crews were in attendance for about an hour.”
