Rangers TV blackout in Russia as Ibrox club suspend broadcasting after Ukraine invasion

Rangers have announced that their club TV broadcasts will not be shown in Russia amid their invasion of Ukraine.

The conflict against their neighbours has brought about a wide range of punishments, including Russian teams being suspended from FIFA and UEFA competitions, while Premier League side Chelsea are in turmoil after owner Roman Abramovich was sanctioned.

Leagues and teams across Europe have pulled their coverage in Russian in response to their actions against Ukraine, including the SFA and SPFL.

Now Rangers have indicated they are also standing with Ukraine as Rangers TV will no longer be accessible from inside Russia.

It means no more games at Ibrox will be shown, starting this weekend with the Scottish Cup fixture at Dundee, and no additional content such as player interviews will be available to view.

A short statement from Rangers reads: "Rangers can confirm that we have suspended coverage of Rangers TV in Russia.

"This will include coverage of tomorrow’s Scottish Cup Quarter Final v Dundee FC, future match broadcasts and all Rangers TV video content.
