Rangers told by Dutch icons PSV are a 'bag of nerves' as Marco Van Basten hits the fear over the big one

Marco van Basten and Wim Kieft have both expressed their major concerns about PSV Eindhoven's defensive capabilities and believe Rangers could leave them wanting again in this week's Champions League play-off.

Michael Beale's side secured a 2-2 draw with the Eridivise side midweek and must repeat the trick of 2022, where they went to Holland and secured a win to make the elite group stage. There are concerns in the Holland camp though with former Ajax and Dutch manager van Basten and PSV icon Kieft - who won the European Cup with PSV and the European Championships with the Netherlands in 1988 - are worried about Peter Bosz's rearguard for Champions League action.

Van Basten said: "Andre Ramalho comes across as very unconvincing, especially on the ball. He got cramp at Ibrox and looked in trouble. To be honest he looks like he is a bag of nerves that boy. Kieft has similar concerns for Rangers' opponents. He pointed out: "On paper, the 2-2 result in Glasgow looks good. But in reality, PSV have too many players in their team who make mistakes.

"A year ago goalkeeper Walter Benítez and defender André Ramalho made a bad mistake against the Scots. Well, those pair still play under manager Peter Bosz.

"The Scottish team got success because they pressed PSV when they tried to play it out from the back. Whenever the ball gets played out from the back to Ibrahim Sangare, everyone holds their breath. The defence worries me greatly. With this PSV side, things could easily go wrong
