Rangers to 'strike' new kit supplier deal as Castore to be ditched from the start of next season

Rangers are reportedly set to sign a deal that will see Umbro take over as their new kit suppliers from the start of next season.

The Gers have had their strips manufactured by Castore for the last five seasons after penning a five year contract worth £20million with the Manchester-based company in March 2024. Like Rangers, Castore have also suffered financially in the calendar year and announced losses of £28.8million in October. Before they struck the agreement with Castore, the Light Blues jerseys were provided by Hummel, who Rangers had to settle a dispute with in court last year after Elite Sports Group Ltd sued them for £9.5million over an alleged breach of contract.

According to Footy Headlines - who are often on the ball when it comes to kit rumours - the Ibrox giants have no intention of extending their deal with Castore and now want Umbro to be their kit suppliers ahead of the 2025/26 campaign. However, the two. companies to currently have a sub licensing deal with each other, via GL Dameck. The English company, that was formed way back in 1924, have previously provided jerseys for Rangers on two occasions, firstly in a 26-year spell between 1964 and 1990 and then again from 2005 to 2013.

Umbro currently supply kits for several top clubs south of the border including West Ham, Ipswich and Bournemouth. They previously made the strips for the Scotland national team on multiple occasions down the years, most recently between 1967 and 19999, designing iconic kits for all of the side's appearances at the World Cup and European Championship finals during that time frame.
