Rangers receive response after Derby County transfer claims emerge

Some Rangers supporters aren't entirely on board with the idea of forward Kemar Roofe being loaned out to Derby County should the Rams decide to make an offer for the Jamaica international.

Reports over the weekend suggest that Derby are 'considering' making a bid for the 29-year-old and 'weighing up' a loan move. Roofe has spent the last two seasons at Ibrox, but injuries have limited the player to just 72 appearances in that time.

The forward's fitness record is a point that Rangers fans are only too keen to bring up in the aftermath of this reporting. Here is a selection of their reactions...

I really like Roofe. He’s a finisher, his movement in the box is great and he adds ‘numbers’ we need, but he’s in the Helander category, can we afford to carry so many injury-prone players on decent wages? Sell and replace, ideally.

Makes zero sense. Derby couldn't cover his wages so I'd be inclined to try our best to get fit. Still believe he is the best finisher at the club. Movement is unreal also. However, he is rarely fit enough which is the flip side. Unless it's a sale, or full wages covered, I'd keep him around.

Really hope this isn't true. He’s better than League One and we could be doing with him when he’s fit.

Not against selling him as he just can’t be relied on fitness-wise (despite how good he is) but a loan would be completely pointless.

We do really need to start offloading all these injury-prone players now.
