Rangers pre season plans in full as Ibrox side close in on two more English friendlies this summer

It is just about time for Rangers to kick off their 2022/23 campaign preparations.

And there is a busy schedule ahead for Gio van Bronckhorst's side.

With international football barely over, the summer break has been short-lived for many players.

But club duty waits for nobody with some sides beginning their 2022/23 preparations already.

Rangers have a big season ahead of them with the battle for the Scottish Premiership pending as well as Champions League third round qualifiers - which take place at the end of July.

The Ibrox side will return for full pre season training in just one week on Monday, June 27 before heading to the Algarve for a week-long training camp next month.

The Light Blues will kick off their warm up clashes on July 2, travelling to face Partick Thistle behind closed doors.

During their time in Portugal, Rangers will face English Championship new boys Sunderland in a friendly on July 9 at the Estádio Municipal de Albufeira.

There is also a clash with Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur pencilled in for July 23 at Ibrox.

Rangers have also provisionally agreed a clash with Blackpool at Broomfield Road on July 16, according to The Scottish Sun.

They also report David Moyes' West Ham side will travel to Ibrox three days later – July 19 – to face the Premiership runners-up.

The Europa League semi-finalists are understood to be heading to Glasgow just four days before Rangers host Tottenham in their final pre-season fixture.
