Rangers line up Manchester United transfer after striking Birmingham City deal

Rangers are closing in on a loan move for Manchester United winger Amad Diallo, according to reports.

The youngster was of interest to Birmingham City earlier in the window but a move failed to materialise.

Blues moved on and brought in Onel Hernandez who has made a good start since joining from Norwich, but Diallo remains available for loan.

And Sky Sports say that will be at Ibrox - a deal which could trigger the completion of Blues’ purchase of Juninho Bacuna.

The former Huddersfield midfielder has passed his medical and everything looks set to go through in what will be Blues’ one permanent signing of the window.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst is willing to let Bacuna leave - and is intent on taking Diallo for the remainder of the campaign.

Diallo, who joined United from Atalanta last year in a move worth over £37million, is viewed by Ralf Rangnick as part of United’s future but needs experience of senior football - particularly in the UK.

SSN reckon the deal could be finalised in the next 24 hours.

Blues have taken Teden Mengi and Tahith Chong on loan from United. They are also closing in on a deal for Lyle Taylor, while Taylor Richards has joined on loan.
