Rangers hero Ally McCoist in 'going right off football' confession but Celtic pal Alan Brazil keeps his powder dry

Ally McCoist joked he's "going right off football" after his beloved Rangers were battered by Celtic.

The Ibrox legend was back on punditry duty on Thursday morning as he fronted up to Celtic-supporting pal Alan Brazil on talkSPORT.

McCoist was in the Parkhead stand to see his team take a drubbing in Glasgow's east end but he offered no excuses for a dismal derby display.

Ange Postecoglou's side ran out 3-0 winners to replace their rivals at the top of the Premiership table, much to Brazil 's delight.

He was discussing Sunderland being linked with Roy Keane before admitting he felt McCoist could've been a potential candidate for the the Black Cats.

But McCoist said: "Not for me Al. I'll be honest with you mate, I don't know what it is, I've just gone right off football mate, I've lost my appetite for it..."

Brazil replied: "What? After last night?"

And a laughing McCoist admitted: "Correct!"

Perhaps surprisingly, Brazil refused to stick the boot in despite a first derby win for his team since 2019.

He said: "People know the score and I'm not going to rub it in, because there's still a long way to go, right?

"So, two points: one was Celtic just pressed the living daylights out of Rangers.
