Rangers handed Liverpool shock blueprint but Kris Commons fires '10 out of 10' warning

Kris Commons reckons Rangers have the tools to upset Liverpool - but warned they'll need flawless performances across the board to pull it off.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side face a massive Champions League on Tuesday as they head for Anfield and a tantalising 'Battle of Britain' showdown with last season's finalists. Jurgen Klopp's team have not had their troubles to seek for this term - sitting 10th in the Premier League and still smarting from a 4-1 drubbing from Napoli in their group stage opener.

The Reds can ill-afford another bad result when Rangers come to Merseyside but Commons senses an opportunity for the Ibrox men to deliver something special. But the former Celtic star reckons that while Liverpool aren't the relentless juggernaut of the last few seasons, every Rangers player will need to produce a 10 out of 10 display if they're to return to Glasgow with a result.

He wrote in his Daily Mail column: "Rangers will need to be ten out of ten in every position across the pitch to stand any chance of getting a result against the six-time European champions. They will certainly need Antonio Colak to maintain his good form up front because, if any chances do come along, they need to be sharp and make sure they take them.

"Colak scored another two goals in the 4-0 victory over Hearts at Tynecastle on Saturday and he deserves to keep his place in the team ahead of Alfredo Morelos. If Rangers can go to Anfield and get a result, it would be right up there with the win in Dortmund in last season's Europa League. Some people will write them off.
