Rangers had Ange Postecoglou walking the green mile before and look how that turned out – Keith Jackson

They’ve underestimated him once before. And look how that turned out.

So Rangers and their supporters would be in serious danger of tempting fate for a second time if they’re fooled into making the same mistake all over again. Yes, Ange Postecoglou might look like a bit of a pushover right now as he prepares to return to Glasgow, a bit battered and bruised on the back of a fairly abysmal run of results as Spurs boss.

There’s even a feeling among regular Tottenham observers that he’s effectively walking the green mile all the way to Ibrox. They’re already scribbling his obituaries in preparation for the axe to fall. And that’s very probably a bit of wishful thinking too on behalf of a London media which has never seemed quite sure of how to take this free spirited, stubbornly single-minded Aussie.

He’s argued with Tottenham’s traveling supporters who rounded on him and gave him what he described in his own way as ‘some pretty direct feedback’ following a recent loss at Bournemouth. And he’s making a habit of bemoaning rotten luck in the face of mourning
