Rangers given Europa League warning as super confident Eintracht Frankfurt chief insists 'we'll win the thing'

Eintracht Frankfurt president Peter Fischer has promised their fans they will definitely beat Rangers in the Europa League Final in Seville.

Rangers face Eintracht in the final in Spain on Wednesday week in a showdown that is sure to spark a huge ticket scramble in Scotland and Germany.

Outspoken Eintracht chief Fischer lashed out at semi-final opponents West Ham when they insisted no visiting fans would be able to sneak into their London Stadium for the first leg of the semi-final, after 30,000 Frankfurt fans previously got their hands on tickets for the win against Barcelona in the Nou Camp by insisting he was 'ashamed of football.'

But he joined the on-pitch celebrations after they defeated the Hammers and insisted his club would taste European glory for the first time since they won the UEFA Cup in 1980.

He said: "It's going to be unbelievable in Seville. If we're in the final, then we want to get the trophy too...and we will. We'll win the thing.

"We expect a tough game against a physical team who are incredibly professional.

"But we have a dream this year and it is going to come true.

"To play against Glasgow Rangers will be a fantastic final. It will be tradition v tradition."

And Eintracht Frankfurt manager Oliver Glasner admits he will have little interest in their two remaining games against Borussia Monchengladbach and Mainz in the Bundesliga, with the club sitting in mid-table and unable to qualify for Europe next season - unless they win the Europa League.
