Rangers fined AGAIN as UEFA hit club with £3k bill for RB Leipzig fireworks

Rangers have been hit with their eighth UEFA fine of the season taking their bill for 2021/22 to more than £110,000.

The latest fine is for fans letting off fireworks during their Europa League first leg with RB Leipzig.

European football's governing body have brought the hammer down on Rangers for fan behaviour frequently this season and last month they were charged €8,000 (£6,798) for "blocking public passageways" in the home leg with Braga.

That came following a substantial €46,250 (£39,303) fine for letting off fireworks during the first leg in Portugal - which UEFA deemed responsible for delaying kick-off.

UEFA have now fined Rangers close to €120,000 in total this season for fan behaviour on their route to the Europa League final.

The latest came for fireworks let off during the first leg in Germany on 28 April, which Gio van Bronckhorst 's team lost 1-0.

But they famously overturned it at Ibrox as they booked their trip to Seville where they would eventually lose out on penalties to Eintracht Frankfurt.
