Another European night, another hammering for a Scottish club. Hearts were the latest to take a pounding, against Fiorentina on Thursday, and their fans aren't happy. Then again, neither is anyone else if the Hotline is anything to go by.

Sorry Robbie, I have ordered the taxi." Gerry Milligan, Erskine, emailed: "The Hearts squad has a decent core but Neilson is too lightweight to get the best out of them. They need a stronger personality."
Andrew Lamb, Fraserburgh, said: "Yet again, the usual failed collection of former journeymen and journalists on BBC Scotland talk up Hearts to beat Fiorentina, only to see them well beaten and reduced to 10 men. When will they ever learn? The SPFL is a flawed product , which is always exposed playing against even mediocre opposition."

The most fantastic result in the history of European football was when Celtic beat Inter Milan to become champions of Europe with the manager and players all born within shouting distance of the ground. That will never be equalled."
