Rangers fans rage at Napoli lockout as UEFA 'sporting integrity' call sparks Champions League travel chaos

Some fans have been left in limbo after UEFA announced a new date for Rangers ' clash with Napoli - alongside news that NO away supporters will be allowed at either game between the teams.

Gers had been set to host Napoli on Tuesday 13 September but earlier today it was pushed back 24 hours, with UEFA citing "severe limitations on police resources and organisational issues" relating to the national mourning of Queen Elizabeth III. The governing body also announced that no away fans will be allowed at Ibrox for the rearranged Champions League showdown - while the same applies to the return clash in Naples as a matter of "sporting integrity."

That's left fans who had booked flights and accommodation for their game in limbo and scrambling to secure refunds from airlines, hotels and travel agencies. And some fans have taken to social media to vent their frustrations, with one writing: "That is so unfair on Napoli fans who will have booked travel and accommodation to Glasgow and the effect on policing numbers will be minimal - nonsense decision. No Rangers fans in Napoli probably good though, not a great place for visiting fans, Napoli Ultras not the friendliest.

"And not forgetting Rangers fans who will have made travel arrangements bearing in mind plenty travel from far afield and outside Scotland. Plenty will have booked Monday to Wednesday travel and hotels and quite a few will probably not be able to rearrange plans"

Another said: "Severe limitations on police? Isn't having Celtic fans in the pubs in town and Rangers fans at Ibrox not going to cause more bother? Very bizarre."

One tweeted: "That's a shocking decision so close. What's a day difference going to do?"
