Rangers fans rage as senior club staffer shares gloating Liverpool picture celebrating record-equalling defeat

Rangers fans are raging after a club employee posted a picture of himself celebrating in the Liverpool end after Wednesday night’s humiliating 7-1 hammering.

Oli Pfeiffer is the club’s head of partnership management, working within the commercial department that is headed up by James Bisgrove. The Liverpool fan was among the 2,636 Reds inside Ibrox to see their side inflict the heaviest ever competitive defeat on Rangers.

The hosts started well and took the lead through Scott Arfield ’s strike before Roberto Firmino equalised for Jurgen Klopp’s men. Liverpool then took control in the second half, scoring six without reply as they ended the Gers’ slim hopes of making it out of Group A in emphatic fashion. Darwen Nunez made it 3-1 before a devastating display from Mo Salaha saw him notch a six-minute, 12-second hat-trick. Youngster Harvey Elliott claimed the seventh after a VAR check finally awarded him his first ever Champions League goal.

Pfeiffer shared an Instagram post of himself and friends in the away end after the match as the travelling support from Merseyside celebrated a massive win whilst waiting to leave the stadium. The post was captioned with “LFC easy ok” with a sunglasses emoji.

And it hasn’t gone down well with fans on social media. One commented: “This reminds me of the banter years when O’Halloran was in the Celtic end at a cup final, whilst still being employed by Rangers.”

Another posted: “Sums the whole club up mate shambles from top to bottom.” Another punter replied: “The AGM will be very interesting.”
