Rangers anniversary kit no show has confused fans asking 'where's the white strip?'

Rangers fans have been left scratching their heads after the club ditched plans to wear their commemorative 150th anniversary kit against Aberdeen.

The Ibrox side have been celebrating the landmark year ahead of their clash with the Dons and earlier this week announced plans to play in a special 'Gallant Pioneers' white jersey.

The team warmed up with the special edition kit on show and were expected to wear it as a one-off during the Premiership clash itself.

But when Rangers emerged from the tunnel for the they were wearing their usual royal blue home shirts, white shorts and red and black socks.

There would have been no issues with a clash of colours as Aberdeen wore their all-red home kit.

The Rangers TV commentary team were left in the dark and had no firm explanation.

One theory that emanated on the broadcast was it's a "superstition" among the players meant they opted to play in their regular home shirt.

Social media was sent into a tailspin during the game.

One confused Twitter user said: "I thought Rangers were wearing all white kit today at 150th anniversary."

Another said as James Tavernier led the teams out: "Where’s the white kit then?"

A fellow punter added: "Thought Rangers were meant to be playing in that white kit today? Just to warm up I guess."
