Rangers and Red Star in full time Europa League rammy as incensed keeper booked after the whistle

Rangers are safely through to the quarter-finals of the Europa League after seeing off a spirited Red Star Belgrade.

But their full-time celebrations sparked a rammy after the whistle with Connor Goldson's roar seemingly irking some of the home players.

The Serbian champions got ahead after just 10 minutes through Mirko Ivanic.

But Ryan Kent's deflected leveller knocked the stuffing out of Red Star though they would win 2-1 on the night thanks to a late El Fardou Ben Nabouhane penalty.

Yet on aggregate it goes down as a 4-2 victory for Giovanni van Bronckhorst and his battlers and the outpouring of emotion at the end was understandable.

It appeared Goldson's joy, close to the Marakana ultras section, enraged goalkeeper Milan Borjan, who confronted the defender.

And that saw referee Istvan Kovacs struggle to contain the players as he hurriedly flashed a yellow in the direction of the keeper after the whistle.

Red Star manager Dejan Stankovic however did shake victorious manager Van Bronckhorst's hand before the end after last week's snub at Ibrox.
