Rangers AGM date revealed as Ibrox board set for stormy shareholders showdown

Rangers fans will get the chance to grill the under-fire Ibrox board after the date for the annual shareholders meeting was confirmed for next month.

The fans of the Ibrox club have been left raging after being left trailing behind rivals and champions Celtic AND Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership and after crashing out of the Champions League qualifiers earlier in the season with boss Philippe Clement under real pressure, despite leading the club to the Premier Sports Cup final where they will take on Brendan Rodgers' side on December 15.

Off the park it's been a shambles after the summer stadium fiasco with a delay in the Copland Road stand construction leading to the club playing away from Ibrox for the early part of the season as they flitted to Hampden.

And the recently published annual accounts show the club made a £17.2 million loss. Throw in the fact there is no chairman - with interim John Gilligan holding the fort after John Bennett stepped down or a chief executive following James Bisgrove's departure back in May. Football operations director Creag Robertson will also leave the club.

Now shareholders will be able to air their concerns and ask club powerbrokers what will be done to get things back on track after the details for the Annual General Meeting were confirmed. The meeting will take place next month on Thursday, December 5 at the Clyde Auditorium - the day after Rangers host Kilmarnock in the Premiership. The AGM was due to take place from the club's new Edmiston House but had to be relocated after Gilligan admitted it was not big enough to meet accommodation requirements.
