Rangers: 76-goal star might have played final game at Ibrox
Rangers midfielder Aaron Ramsey might have played his last game for the club, according to Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge.
The Wales international made the loan switch to Ibrox from Juventus in January, but injuries have overshadowed his four months in Scotland.
When Ramsey made the deadline day move from the Old Lady, the Rangers faithful could hardly contain their excitement, highlighted by hundreds of fans greeting the 30-year-old upon his arrival.
He would make his Scottish Premiership debut days later, but non-stop injuries prevented him from getting a proper run in the side.
Ramsey did score twice, taking his career tally to 76, including the opener in the Old Firm derby last month, but the midfielder endured a miserable night in the Europa League final when he missed the crucial spot kick in the penalty shoot-out to hand Frankfurt the trophy.
He did get his hand on silverware just four days later when Rangers beat Hearts 2-0 in the Scottish Cup final, but he didn’t manage to get on the pitch.
But Ramsey took to Instagram following the cup final and appeared to hint that he won’t be returning next season.
He told GIVEMESPORT: “I don’t think he will be back. We’ve seen a player who has had niggly injuries for his whole time there. He couldn’t get a run going, so I would be surprised [if he stayed].
“He put up an Instagram post on Sunday and it read to me like it was a bit of a goodbye. He hasn’t come here and been that consistent.”
