Ramsgate striker Kane Rowland's scorpion-kick equaliser against Haywards Heath watched more than 430,000 times online

There were mixed emotions for Ramsgate boss Jamie Coyle after Kane Rowland’s brilliant late equaliser against Haywards Heath.

The Isthmian South East leaders scored twice in added time to salvage a 3-3 draw at Southwood on Saturday.

Taofiq Olomowewe, with his second goal of the game, gave them hope in the 95th minute.

And substitute Rowland levelled from an outrageous scorpion-kick three minutes later, with footage of the goal attracting more than 430,000 views by this morning.

“It’s gone viral,” said Rams boss Coyle.

“It’s an outstanding goal, especially coming in the 98th minute and how important that point could potentially be for us come the end of the season.

“We might look back at that goal as a turning point.

“We had so many players under-performing on the day but to get something out of it like we did showed loads of character.

“There were real mixed emotions after the game.

“There was disappointment in terms of everyone knew it wasn’t one of our best performances but then we’ve got a point when it looked like we were dead and buried at 3-1 down after 95 minutes.

“Everyone knew we were way off the standards we’ve set in recent weeks.

"We were poor, as a whole, and we didn’t deserve anything out of it but we’ve shown our resilience to come back. It’s definitely a point gained.”

Rowland was introduced midway through the second half, replacing Gil Carvalho, with Ramsgate 3-1 down.

The striker scored twice as a substitute when Rams beat National South Tonbridge 4-3 in the Kent Senior Cup a fortnight ago, and made another impact with his last-gasp leveller.
