Ramon Silva looking forward to first Challenge Cup experience

Wigan forward Ramon Silva has said he is looking forward to experiencing the Challenge Cup for the first time on Saturday.

Silva joined the Warriors ahead of the 2022 season from London Broncos. However, he has yet to make a first-team appearance for Wigan.

He has been playing for the reserves, and also spent time out on loan at Widnes earlier this year.

Silva has travelled down with the Wigan squad ahead of the Challenge Cup Final, and is looking forward to experiencing the competition.

He told Love Rugby League: “I’ll be going down. My family should be there as well. That’s a big game. Big game against Huddersfield, but I’m sure we’ll end on top still.

“We’ll have our full team striving, and we’ve had good sessions as well. Matty (Peet) has been banging on about our culture. Make sure everyone is just together and we have a tight knit group. I’m sure it will be it’ll be a class game to watch.

“It’s my first time going to a Challenge Cup game ever. So it’s a new experience as a whole. The new stadium at Tottenham is incredible- I’ve seen some pictures and it looks phenomenal. But just being a part of it, the crowd, the atmosphere, it will be great.”

The Brazilian-born prop also said he is prepared to be patient and take his chance at the Warriors when it comes.

He has already experienced Championship level with Widnes, although his game time there was limited.

On his time at the DCBL Stadium, Silva said: “It was good to play Leigh as well, the best the best team in the comp pretty much you know, then Featherstone so it’s good to experience that level. They’ve got a lot of good experience and good players.
