Ralf Rangnick makes Champions League admission after Manchester United defeat vs Arsenal

Ralf Rangnick thinks Manchester United's hopes of securing Champions League football are 'gone'.

United lost 3-1 to Arsenal on Saturday afternoon and that defeat followed Tuesday's 4-0 defeat against Liverpool. United are now six points behind fourth-placed Arsenal - the London club also have a game in hand - with just four games left to play.

Rangnick has refused to be drawn into speculation around United's finishing position during his tenure but he's now finally admitted that the Reds' hopes of finishing in the top four have 'gone'. Rangnick has recently earned praise for his honest interviews.

Rangnick also admitted that Erik ten Hag has 'a lot of work' to do at Old Trafford.

"For me, even before the game it was not very likely, but after today's result it is gone, yes," Rangnick told BT SPORT.

"There is a lot of work to do here for sure, he [Ten Hag] knew that even before the game.

"But we showed what kind of football that we can play. "
